What a scan gives you

Real profit and loss

The wallet's own PnL curve and portfolio value, read from Polymarket's wallet-level endpoints rather than guessed from open positions.

Every position

Every open position live, plus what settled recently, with entry price, current mark, size and result.

Recent trade history

Recent fills, splits, merges and redeems, each linked to its Polygon transaction so you can verify it yourself.

Rewards and rebates

Liquidity rewards, maker and taker rebates and yield, separated out from trading PnL instead of buried in it.

Why adding up someone’s positions gives the wrong answer

Polymarket’s positions endpoint returns only what a wallet still holds or can still redeem. The moment a trader redeems a winning market, that row is deleted. Losing markets, by contrast, sit there indefinitely as resolved rows worth nothing.

A “closed positions” list built that way is survivorship bias in reverse: it keeps the losses and throws away the wins. Measured against a top leaderboard wallet, summing that endpoint produced −$663,368 for a wallet that was genuinely up about $3.6 million. Not imprecise — inverted.

Strategy Scanner takes each figure from whichever source is actually authoritative: lifetime PnL from Polymarket’s own series, which counts redeemed markets; unrealised PnL from open positions, which is always complete; and per-market results from a replay of real USDC cash flows. The full derivation is in the guide.

One question, twenty-three markets

Polymarket splits a single question into separate tradable bracket markets. “Who will be nominated as Fed Chair?” is not one market — it is one per candidate, each resolving Yes or No on its own.

So a flat list shows twenty-three near-identical rows where the trader made one decision about one question. Strategy Scanner groups by event by default: in testing, roughly 500 scattered positions collapsed into 184 readable decisions. Switch to the market view whenever you want the individual fills underneath.

What it will not tell you

Portfolio value, cash balance, position value and total PnL cover a wallet’s entire life. Win rate, streaks and per-market results are derived here from a bounded window of recent activity — they carry a Recent label, and the page states how many events the window holds and how far back it reaches.

No page claims to have read a complete history, because none has. Every metric is documented with its source and scope, so you always know which of the two you are reading.

Common questions

Is Strategy Scanner free?

Yes. No account, no sign-up and no wallet connection — paste a public Polymarket wallet address and read the result.

Does the wallet owner know I looked them up?

No. Reading public blockchain and API data leaves no trace for the owner, and no notification is sent.

Why does the PnL differ from adding up someone's positions?

Polymarket deletes a position row once a winning market is redeemed, while losers remain as resolved rows worth nothing. Summing that endpoint therefore keeps the losses and discards the wins.
